Brief Introduction of DC Overrunning Clutch One Way Bearings
Type DC is a sprag-type freewheel cage without inner or outer races. It must be installed in a setup that includes
races, bearing support for both axial and radial loads, lubrication, and sealing. The DC type version-N is compatible
with all lubricants commonly used in power transmission equipment.
The tolerance for sprag spacing must be maintained within specified limits. Both inner and outer races need a
minimum plain width "e," without any recess, to ensure proper freewheel operation. Alternatively, races can be
machined directly onto case-hardened steel shafts or housings, following the specifications below:
- Surface hardness of the finished part should be HRC 60 to 62, with a minimum depth of 0.6 mm.
- Core hardness should range from HRC 35 to 45.
- Surface roughness should not exceed 22 CLA.
- Maximum allowable taper between races is 0.007 mm over a 25 mm width.
