Features of GFR...F2F3 Series Freewheel Backstop Clutch Bearings
Types GFR..F2F3/F3F4 are roller-type freewheels that are self-contained, sealed, and supported by two 160.. series
bearings, using the GFR base module. These units require oil lubrication before use, particularly if delivered
disassembled or when using the F3F4 cover combination. Primarily employed as backstops, as illustrated on the
following page, the F3 cover acts as a torque arm and includes an integrated stop bolt. This stop bolt should fit
into a slot in a fixed part of the machine, with a radial clearance of 13% of the bolt's diameter. Both the torque arm
and bearings must remain free of any prestress.
The F2 and F4 covers close the unit and are equipped with three screws for oil filling, drainage, and level checks.
When using the F4 cover, it is essential to seal the shaft end plate and its screw to prevent oil leakage through the
keyway. Covers are designed for easy installation, allowing rotation direction to be selected on-site. Upon request,
units can also be supplied assembled and pre-lubricated for the F2F3 combination.
