Features of GFR Series Freewheel Backstop Clutch Bearings
The GFR and GFRN types are roller-type freewheels that are supported by two 160.. series bearings and require
oil lubrication. These units are intended for applications where oil lubrication and sealing are provided, as shown
in the example on the following page. It is important to ensure that the bearings are not subjected to axial stress.
Typically, the GFR and GFRN types are used with F-series covers, which are designed to transmit torque and provide
both oil lubrication and sealing. The GFR model has a smooth outer race, allowing for alignment with any
component machined to an H7 tolerance. In this setup, torque transmission is achieved by bolts passing through
the cover plate. The GFR and GFRN models are identical, except the GFRN model includes an external keyway for
torque transmission. Each unit is supplied with two paper seals, which should be placed between the outer race
and cover plates.

Installing the GFR Freewheel One Way Clutch correctly is imperative for optimal performance and longevity. The
installation process involves several key steps, each requiring careful attention to detail.
Installation and Usage
Ensuring secure fastening of the GFR Freewheel Clutch to the shaft or mounting surface is vital. Incorrect or loose fastening can lead to misalignment, reducing the clutch's effectiveness and potentially causing damage to both the clutch and the machinery.
Utilize solely a parallel key for securing the clutch to the shaft, avoiding the use of a tapered key.
When installing the clutch onto the shaft, exert pressure on the inner race exclusively, avoiding any pressure on the outer race. Refer to the illustration on the right for guidance.
For vertical installations, kindly seek guidance from SUMA TEAM .
Select a key that adheres to the specifications outlined in ISO R773 (DIN 6885.1).
